Jimmy Pouncey, Jr. was born in Conroe, TX and raised in Cleveland, Coldspring, and the Southeast side of Houston. He began working in the electrical field at the age of 18. “My uncle’s old buddy needed some helpers, and I needed a job.”

Jimmy was a hard worker and a fast learner. He advanced in the trade, earning Journeyman and Master Electrician Licenses, and eventually moved into an office position. In the office, he gained experience in project management and business functions.

When the recession of 2009 hit, construction projects in the Houston area slowed and many trade industry jobs were lost. When Jim was let go from his position, he made the decision to take a risk and start his own electrical contracting company. With the support of family and friends willing to work for him, and support from customers he had established relationships with over the years, Jimmy founded Assurance Electric, LLC and began operating the company out of his own home.

The company recently celebrated 10 years in business, and has grown substantially since its founding. Assurance Electric now has an office located off Hatfield Road in Pearland. There are a lot more friendly and hardworking faces on the payroll. The company has built a strong list of long-term customers, and a reputation of integrity, reliability, and high quality work performance. Assurance Electric is proud to be able to support its community by donating to youth sports teams, Pearland FFA, Pearland 100 Club and Pearland Lion’s Club.

Jimmy aims to ensure his company will continue to grow, provide quality electrical work and a positive business experience to his hometown for many years to come.
